AlertNow Information

So that the School can more quickly communicate critical information to parents, MPH has contracted with AlertNow, a rapid notification service that is already being used by many schools nationwide. The AlertNow system will utilize the contact information you have provided to MPH to deliver important phone messages.

Messages will be delivered to all contact numbers we have on record for your child.  Parents do not need to register with AlertNow. MPH has already provided all contact information to AlertNow. However, it is very important that we continue to have accurate contact information for each student. AlertNow is updated nightly from our database, so please be certain to notify the School immediately if your home number, cell phone number, or e-mail address changes during the year. (AlertNow also provides e-mail capabilities, which MPH may soon begin utilizing.)

What you need to know about receiving calls sent through AlertNow

  • Caller ID will display the School’s main number when an announcement is delivered.
  • AlertNow will leave a message on any answering machine or voicemail.
  • If the AlertNow message stops playing, press any key 1-9 and the message will replay from sthe beginning.

Thanks to the capability of AlertNow to efficiently and simultaneously send important messages to MPH families, we no longer need to rely on a parent “phone tree” to communicate critical information to parents.

Along with enacting the AlertNow notification system, MPH has taken other steps to increase campus security and the safety of students. These initiatives, developed by the School’s Crisis Response Team after consultation last spring with the DeWitt Police Department, address a recommendation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation team. Concerned about the School’s open campus, the accreditation team recommended MPH investigate additional measures to protect student safety.

You will notice that MPH administrators, faculty, and staff members are now wearing identification badges – picture ID tags indicating they are employees of the School and "belong" on campus. A visitor sign-in program is also now in place. Parents and all other visitors to campus must sign in at one of several registration desks (located in the McNeil lobby, the front entrance to the Farmhouse, the Alumni Lodge, the lobby of the Center for Early Learning, and the Health Office). As visitors sign in, they also fill out a stick-on name tag to wear while on campus. We ask your cooperation in this effort to be more vigilant in knowing who is on our campus.

Please be assured that all these steps are being taken in the interest of assuring your child’s safety while on campus and in communicating more effectively with you.
