Planned GivingManlius Pebble Hill School is often thought of as the "little engine that could." We have survived transitions, mergers, and near catastrophes. Founded first as a boy's school in 1869, becoming a military school, and then merging with a country day school, the MPH of today has a complicated history. This type of evolution is not atypical of old-line independent schools and reflects the precarious nature of their existence. Given this history, it is incumbent on those of us who hold the school's future in our hands to ensure the long-term continuity of MPH. Therefore, several years ago the school initiated a comprehensive Planned Giving Program, encouraging friends, alumni, and parents to consider including MPH in their estate planning. In June of 1995, the Tree of Life Society was founded, recognizing those families and individuals who have made a legacy gift to the School. We are now proud to announce that this group has grown to 67 strong. There are a variety of mechanisms in estate planning that can prove beneficial for the donor as well as the school. Outlined below are just a few of these arrangements, with the benefits listed. As with any gift to the school, if you have any questions or if you would like to discuss planned giving options, please don't hesitate to contact Tina Morgan , Director of Development, at 315/446-2452, ext. 112. "Manlius was simply the greatest formal educational experience of my life. We decided that one small payback to the future students of Manlius Pebble Hill would be a small legacy from our future estate."
"MPH was and continues to hold an important place in my life. I grew up at Pebble Hill thanks to exceptional teachers and great guidance. I feel it is my obligation to give back to the institution that pointed me in the right direction."
