Annual Giving: ParentsEach year in November, a group of 30 or 40 parent volunteers gather in the Knox Farmhouse for a gourmet meal, a glass or two of wine, and a chance to renew or develop friendships. You might think this is purely a social event, but in reality this is the Parents' Annual Giving phone-a-thon. While a great deal of laughter can be heard throughout the Farmhouse, these parent volunteers are serious about the job of raising funds for this very important Campaign. Grade level "captains" organize their team of volunteers, who are responsible for calling every parent in the School. Letters are then sent out either confirming a pledge made over the phone or asking for a commitment from those who could not be reached. At the end of the Campaign, this hard work pays off; last year, over $117,000 was raised from parents in support of this critical effort. Where do Annual Giving dollars go? In the past, these unrestricted gifts have helped provide new technology in the classrooms, improvements to the aging physical plant, athletic equipment for sports teams, professional development opportunities for faculty, and scholarship assistance for deserving students. In essence, these gifts are not simply numbers on a balance sheet. They truly enable the school to better serve the students of today and tomorrow. The goal with Parents' Annual Giving is always 100% parent participation. To insure that your family is among those who support the Campaign, simply make your gift online or send in your check or credit card information to: Parents' Annual Giving In advance, thank you for your support! |
