Fundraising EventsMPH fundraising events, sponsored by the Parents' Association, do more than simply raise critical funds to supplement tuition income. In the process of planning events, MPH parents come together and find new friendships, shared interests, and a whole new resource for ideas from parenting (what does it mean when my child says this?) to technology (what does it mean when my computer says this?). Fundraising events also give the MPH community an opportunity to showcase what an outstanding school we have. Parents are encouraged to invite friends and supporters to campus to show them a picture of what we do here that is worth more than any amount of words. Whether you volunteer to help plan an event or simply attend an event, everyone benefits. Volunteers know the satisfaction of doing something for others, parents know the feeling of commitment to their children, and MPH keeps getting better and better! The Parents' Association urges every parent to participate in our fundraising events in any way possible. At the start of each school year, a Parents' Association packet is sent home to every family. It includes information on fundraising events and how everyone can get involved. Events for the 2006-2007 school year include:
MPH Golf TournamentAfter an exciting and memorable first year, the second annual MPH Golf Tournament was held Sunday, July 8, 2007 and was just as successful. The 2008 event has been scheduled for July 13, so mark your calendars and stay tuned to this website for more information. To learn more and register, visit the MPH Golf Tournament web page. This year, we will maintain our dinner dance format at the Grand Ballroom in Hotel Syracuse. Chaired by MPH parent Kathy Arendt, our annual Spring Gala will be April 5, 2008. For more information, visit the 2008 Gala web page. Box Tops for EducationThis one is easy! Just clip the "Box Tops for Education" symbol from any General Mills cereal or food box and turn it in to MPH. Collection boxes are located all over campus. They can be found in the Lower Division and Upper School offices, at the reception desk in McNeil, and in classrooms. The Parents' Association receives money for each box top, which is used to underwrite expenses for the Fall Picnic. Schoolpop.comWith Schoolpop.com, you can help MPH earn contributions all year long by shopping at hundreds of name-brand merchants online, in stores, through catalogs, with gift cards or a Schoolpop credit card. With no added costs to the school or you, the Parents’ Association will receive up to 20% of your purchases made through this site. Search the Internet and MPH benefits!GoodSearch.com is a new search engine powered by Yahoo! which allows you to raise money for Manlius Pebble Hill School every time you search the Internet. Here’s how it works: The first time you go onto the GoodSearch website, designate Manlius Pebble Hill School as your favorite charity. Then, every time you search the web using GoodSearch.com, money will go to MPH without you spending a dime! Search engines make money from advertisers who place ads on search results pages. GoodSearch.com redirects ad dollars earned from your search to your favorite charity or school. Last year search engines generated nearly $4 billion from advertising. Even a fraction of that could make a big difference if given to charitable causes. GoodSearch was founded by Ken and JJ Ramberg, a brother and sister
team who lost their mother to cancer. They encountered so many organizations
in desperate need of money and they wanted to find an easy way for
people to support their favorite cause. This sparked the idea for
GoodSearch. Click here for more information on GoodSearch.com
