PlayScape
MPH offers a two-week program for children following non-public school closings and graduations. Many independent and parochial schools are finished with classes weeks before public schools are dismissed. What are working parents to do with young children who cannot and should not stay home alone?
For years, MPH has been offering a very successful, fun-filled program where children are exposed to indoor and outdoor activities, field trips, arts and crafts, and organized games daily. Hiking and swimming at Green Lakes is a regular activity in the program.
Dusty Heer and Sylvia Heer, co-directors of the Grace R. Kniesner Extended Day Program, are also co-directors of the PlayScape program. They are assisted by others chosen for their ability to relate to young children and their creativity.
Each day these teachers present new activities with different themes to help students enjoy their surroundings and friends.
- This program is open to students who have just completed Prekindergarten through Grade 5.
- Morning and afternoon snacks are provided.
- Children must bring their own lunches. Refrigeration is available.
- Children can attend as many or as few days as desired.
