MPHMUNWe are once again proud to host the first conference of the academic year in Central New York. For the ninth annual MPHMUN conference, we open our doors to schools from around the Central New York region to debate in our single day conference. It was in 1999 that this conference was first founded after MPHMUN advisors discussed the need for a “season opener.” Through great assistance from school administrators, through support from MUN advisors, and through the continued dedication of all the Chairs and delegates that have since walked the halls of this conference, MPHMUN has grown to its current standing. Today, MPHMUN has thoroughly established itself on the high school MUN circuit as the first stop for successful CNY model untied nations teams.So when we set out to work this past summer on setting up for this conference, we became acutely aware of our history. The need then to further the quality of this conference to our highest abilities was stronger in our minds than ever before. We have chosen to limit the number of committees this year to ensure a higher level of debate, and our chairs have grafted the makings of such diverse committees as the Algerian War Crisis Committee and the International Criminal Court. No Model United Nations conference, however, would be complete without the General Assembly Committee, the Economic and Social Committee, or the Disarmament Committee, all of which are featured this year. This year we have created a new website that will allow delegates easier accessibility to the resources they may need leading up to the conference.
