Scrapbook: Homecoming 2005

Despite the rain, alumni, students, faculty, parents, and friends came out to support the Boys Varsity Soccer Team for the annual Homecoming game. The boys beat Central Square with a score of 3-0. This was the 54th shutout for MPH's goalie, Dimitri Telonis. He now holds the record of the greatest number of shutouts for any Section III goalie. Congrats D! The boys won their game on Wednesday (October 12) and are currently undefeated with a record of 13-0-0.

The Girls Varsity Soccer Team is also having an outstanding season and they have a record of 11-1-0. The Girls Tennis Match scheduled for last Friday was cancelled due to the rain and was rescheduled for Monday, October 10. The lady Trojans fell to Jamesville-DeWitt High School but despite that they are having a strong season with a 13-4 record. For current schedules and scores for the MPH athletic teams, check out Syracuse.com.

Back on the soccer field, Betsy (Craig) Wells '93 and Tyler Cagwin '98 were ready to captain the alumni team for the annual Alumni versus Faculty/Parents Soccer Game. However, the game was called due to the wet conditions. All alumni present and any parents geared up for the game received a free Homecoming t-shirt. The Junior Class sponsored the Homecoming Barbecue and served the rain-drenched spectators. The Alumni Office is already looking forward to next year's Homecoming with the hopes of warm temperatures, blue sky, and lots of sunshine.

While the rain fell outside, the Alumni Association Board of Directors met in the Farmhouse all day on Friday to discuss alumni programming and fund raising efforts. Board members traveled from as far as Arizona, Florida, New York City and from as close as Canton and DeWitt, to share their ideas and enthusiasm for Manlius Pebble Hill School. A special thank you goes to all of our Board members for their time, support, and energy.
