Scrapbook: Clambake Weekend 2009This year's Clambake Weekend was more memorable than ever, with 14 events held over three days and more than 400 alumni and friends participating in at least one of them. Starting on Thursday, June 11, MPH celebrated its top donors, tree of life members, and reunion and event chairs at the Leadership Recognition dinner. Guests enjoyed special student performances and a wonderful dinner. The next day, alumni and parents joined together for a friendly round of golf at Green Lakes while another small group played at the first ever tennis classic. Later that day, alumni had the option to attend one of five parties for each of the Schools. Saturday began with the Verbeck Memorial Service where Reverend Suzi (Bahner) Harriff remembered the history of the School and the wonderful people that have been a part of it. Afterwards, Head of School Baxter Ball and MPH division heads conducted an open discussion about each department and its vision for the School. Outside, nearly 100 people gathered for the dedication of the new Korean/Vietnam War Memorial in honor of our alumni whose lives were lost in these wars. Immediately following, over 220 people enjoyed great weather and plenty of food for the annual Clambake. The parties continued into the night as the Manlius School celebrated their reunion years with a formal dinner, and alumni rocked out to “Old School” in the dining hall. Photos are currently being added to the MPH website from all of this years events, so be sure to check them out. Plus, plans are already underway for Clambake 2010! Special thanks goes to Clambake Weekend 2009 Chair Claire Myers-Usiatynski ’72, all the reunion class chairs, the alumni, trustees,c urrent and former faculty, and all who attended any one of the events throughout Clambake Weekend. We are working on putting captions on for each photo, so keep checking back! View the Korean and Vietnam War Memorial Dedication Service here.
