The MPH Scholarship Exam
Manlius Pebble Hill School is proud of its long-standing tradition of providing merit scholarships to bright and talented students who would like to attend MPH. The scholarship exam is offered annually in January for new students who will be entering Grades 6 through 12. The date of the next exam is January 21, 2012.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and the candidate's ability to make significant contributions to the MPH community. They are renewable annually until graduation providing the recipient maintains a strong academic record, contributes to the life of the School and demonstrates positive behavior. Approximately 12% of MPH students receive the following scholarships, totaling $740,000 annually.
The James Crosby Scholarships began many years ago as a way to attract new Middle and Upper School students who will take full advantage of our excellent academic program while contributing to the life of the School.
- One full-tuition Crosby Scholarship is awarded to a new Middle School student.
- One full-tuition Crosby Scholarship is awarded to a new Upper School student.
- Partial-tuition Crosby Scholarships are awarded to new students entering Grades 6 through 12, including awards to students of color and students who excel in the performing arts.
Malone Family Scholarships
In recognition of the School’s academic leadership, the Malone Family Foundation in May of 2010 awarded Manlius Pebble Hill School a $2 million grant to be used exclusively to fund new scholarships. The goal of these scholarships is to provide an outstanding education to students entering Grades 7 through 12 who are among the top five percent of their class and who display the keen desire and motivation to learn, yet lack the resources to afford such an education.
Malone Family Foundation Scholarships are awarded to students entering Grades 7 through 12 who demonstrate both outstanding ability as well as at least 30% financial need. A financial aid application must be completed in order to be considered for this scholarship.
Throughout its history, the School has been fortunate in receiving generous support from individuals and families who have chosen to dedicate their gifts to the following Endowed Scholarship Funds.
Lt. James H. Dawley, Jr. Scholarship is awarded to an Upper School student who excels in all areas of school life.
The David Edwards Scholarship is awarded to an Upper School student who excels in the study of English.
The Flag Scholarship is awarded to children of alumni of The Manlius School, Pebble Hill School, or Manlius Pebble Hill School.

The John P. Lenore Scholarship is awarded to a young man of great promise who may not otherwise have the resources to attend Manlius Pebble Hill School.
