Admissions Staff

Nicole Cicoria- Director of Admissions

Having served many years in higher education, I can attest first-hand to the many ways an MPH education prepares students, as early as Prekindergarten, to become lifelong learners who can successfully navigate their own unique college experience. An MPH education is one of the best investments a family can make in their child’s future, and I enjoy being a part of the MPH Admissions team, where I can meet CNY families and help them discover this exceptional school.”

Nicole came to MPH in 2012 after serving several years in the department of Enrollment Management at Syracuse University in the Syracuse University Abroad program. During her time at SU, Nicole recruited and enrolled over 300 students per semester in the University’s Study Abroad Program in Florence, Italy. In addition to recruiting students from Syracuse, Nicole worked with colleges and universities across the Northeast to promote SU Abroad centers and facilitate the enrollment of non-SU students in Syracuse’s programs overseas, including the SU Florence Visual Art & Design, Architecture and Hospitality programs.

Prior to working in international education, Nicole served as an Academic Advisor in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University and an Area Coordinator in Residence Life at SUNY Geneseo.

Nicole graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Public Relations and later obtained her Master’s Degree in English from SUNY Cortland. She lives in downtown Syracuse in the Armory Square district with her husband, Ron, and two four-legged children named Nelson and Rue.

Jim Ryan- Associate Director of Admissions

What first drew me to MPH was the School’s incredible academic reputation, and I have since been inspired by the tremendous sense of community that MPH cultivates amongst its students and parents. I am thrilled to be part of the MPH Admissions Office and look forward to providing prospective families with an authentic experience of independent school education.”

Jim has spent the majority of his professional career in education. He came to MPH in 2015 from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where he served as an Associate Director of Admissions, responsible for recruiting students and reading applications from Central NY, the Capital District and private schools in and around the greater Boston area. He also spent time recruiting private and public schools in Western NY, Vermont, Maine, and Pittsburgh and served as the school’s Transfer Coordinator. In addition, Jim spent nine years as an assistant football coach at the collegiate level, with his last stop as part of the Hobart College Coaching Staff.

Prior to joining the college ranks, he spent four years at Bishop Grimes High School as a teacher, Head Coach for boys’ Varsity Track, and Assistant Coach for the football program. Prior to that, Jim served 4 years as a Program Coordinator in the Syracuse City School District.

Jim is a graduate of St John Fisher College and has a degree in History with a minor in education. He lives in Liverpool with his wife Elizabeth and three children, Mikaila, Zachary, and James Jr.
