Lower School Extended Day

The Program

At MPH, we feel that families are important. We also recognize that all families are different with varying schedules, lifestyles and needs.

Grace R. Kniesner Extended Day Program is an after school program for children in Grades Pre-K through 5. The program runs only on regular school days from 3:10 - 5:30 pm when MPH is in session and not on school vacation days, snow days, or conference days.

Dusty and Sylvia Heer direct this program along with LeeAnne Lupien as an assistant. Staff members are chosen for their ability to relate to young children and their creativity.

Experience proves that outdoor play is what children want and need most and this takes place whenever weather permits. Appropriate (allergy-free) snacks are provided daily along with time to do homework or use the computer. Plenty of alternative activities are offered such as art projects, reading, or games in a "quiet room." Additionally, Lower School families will receive information regarding after school clubs and classes offered seasonally. Space permitting, children may opt to participate in any or all of those while having Extended Day as a back-up.
