Manlius-Pebble Hill's girls lacrosse team moved to 2-0 on the season last Tuesday night, holding off New Hartford in a 14-11 decision.

The Trojans built its margin in the first half, going up 7-4 and answering every single time the Spartans tried to challenge them.

Meghan Crawford had five goals, just ahead of Makeda McGowan, who earned four goals and one assist. Kaitlin Duffy scored three times, as Scarlet Jaworski got two goals.

Just as quickly, though, the Trojans tumbled, falling Wednesday to Bishop Ludden 22-5 despite Duffy and Crawford getting two goals apiece. The Gaelic Knights controlled matters from the start, as Morgan Kanvay outscore MPH by herself with six goals, adding four assists.

As this was going on, the MPH boys lacrosse team went to Tully last Wednesday night and took a 14-6 loss to the Black Knights.

Tully started on a 5-0 run and never let MPH get closer, despite some even play in the game?s middle stages. Scott Meehan and Cameron Winfield each had two goals, while Alex Urist and Colin Duncan got single tallies. Jon Saltman made 13 saves. Adam Jean (four goals) and Mark Briggs (three goals) led Tully along.

The Trojans followed Friday with an 8-2 loss to Onondaga, where both goals came in the fourth quarter after the Tigers built a 6-0 lead.
Meehan and Urist had those goals, as Saltman got 10 saves and Craig Burlin led OCS with three goals. The Trojans play CBA and Jordan-Elbridge this week.
